The Advanced Technology Academy is designed to train young adults ages 18 – 24 at no cost, in high demand occupations.

Training programs currently offered:

• Precision Machine Technology
• Industrial Welding
• Auto Technician
• Private Security
• And other programs as determined by industry demand

In addition to training at no cost, the students receive supportive services, soft skills training, job readiness (resume preparation, interviewing, and networking), paid internships and job placement and retention.

Training programs are designed to provide intense, short-term training completed within one semester.

Eligibility requirements include, 18-24 years of age, Cuyahoga County resident, low income, and High school diploma or GED.

The Work Skills Program serves Out of School youth, ages 16-24 years old. Youth will receive individualized programming based on results from our comprehensive assessment process. The program is 10 weeks long and focuses on employment and training, personal life skills, and academic readiness. OhioGuidestone utilizes the R-Rules curriculum by Betti Souther which is based on the Bridges Out of Poverty philosophy where students will create a future picture, learn the hidden rules of schools and businesses, build resources and achieve results by making their own choices. After the 10 week program youth are matched with a Career Coach who will support then in finding employment, enrolling in a training/certificate program or enrolling in post-secondary education. All youth receive:

• Customer Service, ServSafe, and Hospitality Training which result in a Nationally Recognized Certificates
• GED Test Preparation
• Academic Enrichment
• Employability Workshops
• College Preparation Assistance
• Intensive Case Management
• Paid Work Experience Opportunities
• Choice in Occupational Training
• Employment and Retention Services

At the Bolivar OMJ|CC location, a youth case manager is on site and available by referral or walk in Monday thru Friday from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. Youth can tour the facility and learn more about YRC assistance, including resource connection and employment preparation assistance. Services are open to young adults ages 14 – 24.

Services include:

• Case manager assistance
• Job Club
• Guest speakers and workshops
• Computer lab open daily
• Career pathway programming, which can include paid work experience and credential training opportunities
• Common areas open for free study during regular business hours.

Orientations are held at the YRC every Monday at 12 pm and 2 pm.
